Our Audiologists

G. Christopher Gaines, II, Au.D., Ph.D., CCC-A, FAAA received his undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University (Raleigh, NC). He received the Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) and clinical Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) from East Carolina University (Greenville, NC). While at East Carolina University, Dr. Gaines worked primarily in the basic sciences and studied evoked potentials from the vestibular system, which are electrical signals that relay information on the general health/status of the balance apparatus.

Caitlyn received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Linguistics from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill before pursuing her Doctorate of Audiology (Au.D.) at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She completed her fourth-year residency at Duke University Hospital treating patients of all ages, from infancy to adulthood.

Abby received her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Appalachian State University, and her Doctorate in Audiology from East Carolina University.

Gracyn earned her undergraduate degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Appalachian State University before completing her Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) at East Carolina University. She completed her fourth-year clinical externship here at East Coast Hearing and Balance, where she focused on hearing and vestibular sciences.

Erin received her undergraduate degree from West Chester University of Pennsylvania before pursuing her Doctorate of Audiology (Au.D.) at Montclair State University in Bloomfield, NJ. She completed her fourth year residency at the ENT House of Hearing in Salt Lake CIty, Utah.

Mary Jo Grote began her professional journey with a BA in Education from Indiana University, but it was her growing interest in hearing and communication that led her to pursue an MA in Audiology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She later enhanced her skills by earning her PhD in Communication Disorders and Sciences from Wichita State University, where she had the unique opportunity to study under one of the early pioneers of amplification in audiology.

Allison received both her undergraduate degree and her Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) from Indiana University (Bloomington, IN). While in school she spent time researching how patients with hearing loss understand speech in noise and how to implement this into hearing aid technology.

Madelyn received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC before pursuing her Doctorate of Audiology (Au.D.) at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN.

Alison earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Cincinnati before obtaining her Doctorate of Audiology (Au.D.) at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. She completed her clinical residency at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, where she gained comprehensive training in hearing and vestibular sciences across the lifespan.

Lyndsay received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL and continued to Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL to receive her Doctorate of Audiology (Au.D.).
