Meet Rachael N. Piper, AuD, FAAA
Rachael is the audiologist at our Leland-Wilmington Office. She received her Bachelor of Arts from State University of New York (SUNY) at Plattsburgh. Rachael graduated with her Doctorate in Audiology from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). While attending UIUC, Rachael presented her research “Lombard Effect, Ambient Noise, and Willingness to Spend Time and Money in a Restaurant Among Older Adults” at the Acoustical Society of America Virtually Everywhere Conference. Her research focused on how hearing loss in adults over the age of 60 is impacted by the varying degrees of restaurant atmospheric noise loudness and how it correlates with their financial and social choices. She currently holds North Carolina State Licensure, is a member of the North Carolina Audiology Association, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology. Rachael practices full-time at our Leland location. In her free time, Rachael enjoys going to the beach to find seashells, playing piano, dancing at the local Babs McDance Studio, reading, and spending time with her two cats Newton and Roo.
